On February 13, 2024, TinT-FollowTaxes, in partnership with KSMC Media, hosted a live session on KADA FM to mark World Radio Day. The program focused on climate change awareness, the role of radio in community engagement, and the challenges of effective communication in multilingual societies. Speakers emphasized the power of radio in rural advocacy, particularly in addressing climate-related disasters like flooding and desertification.

Reaching an estimated 3.5 million listeners across five African countries, the session encouraged eco-friendly practices such as tree planting and waste management. It also highlighted the importance of broadcasting in local languages like Hausa to enhance inclusivity. Listeners actively participated, with 10 live call-ins sharing concerns and insights on climate issues.

The event reinforced radio’s role in bridging the gap between policymakers and communities. It underscored the need for continued collaboration between media houses and environmental organizations to strengthen grassroots climate advocacy and ensure critical information reaches even the most remote areas.
