Transparency Center Africa Popularly known as TinT-FollowTaxes is a Civil society Organization that has been working on improving accountability and transparency in Northern Nigeria and other States across Africa through research, policy, advocacy, practice, monitoring, evaluation, and accountability, and transparency mechanisms for more than five years. For over eight years now, Transparency Center Africa has been supporting the efforts of non-state and state actors in strengthening public transparency, accountability and effectiveness, gender mainstreaming, and citizen engagement, especially in areas relating to Public Finance Management such as Fiscal Planning, Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM)/Tax Administration, Revenue, Budget, Procurement, Audit, Freedom of information and digital rights

Our Mission
Lead and Support the efforts of non-state and state actors in strengthening Public Governance Accountability and citizens’ engagement mechanisms for improved service delivery, with a focus on Agriculture, Basic Education, Healthcare and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH).

What we do?
Transparency Center Africa, initially known as Transparency and Accountability in Totality-FollowTaxes, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting service delivery. The organization supports non-state and state actors in promoting and strengthening institutions to become more proactive, responsive, and accountable. FollowTaxes as an Initiative also works to enhance citizens’ and marginalized groups’ capacity to participate in democratic governance processes by translating government data into local dialects. This enables citizens to hold the government accountable for their actions and inactions.

We are committed to bridging the gap between government and the people by making public finance and relevant governance data accessible to all, fostering informed advocacy, and strengthening accountability mechanisms.
